Bring along an empty 2L plastic fizzy juice bottle and work with our 'Whitelee Science Communicators' to turn it into your very own unique 'Bottle Rocket'. For Ages 7-12.

Brilliant Batteries:

Come and learn about how electrical circuits work in this fun and interactive workshop. Learn how some things are conductors and some are insulators, and how batteries work.

We will be using everyday household objects to generate electricity and start thinking about our electricity usage

Age Range –  8-12 years old,  although slightly younger and older children may still find this interesting.

History-themed Bus Tour:

Hop aboard our bus and journey back in time with local historian and author Susan Hunter.

This brand new extended bus tour will take passengers around the inner circuit of Whiteles Windfarm and look at the archaeological remains  of features dating back to before the 1789 John Ainslie Farm Plans including the original trackways across the moors, farming settlements, cultivation, sheepfolds, dams and covenanting monuments.   (alighting from the bus for a better view if and where possible)

The tour will last approx 1.5hrs and will start and end from the Visitor Centre.

Disgusting Digestion:

In this fun workshop, you will become a piece of food and discover the route taken through the digestive system of the human body.

Ancient Technology: Catapults

In this workshop you'll learn about forces, energy and ancient technology, but more importantly, you'll get to build your very own catapult to fire at your opponent’s castle!
