Education programme at Whitelee Windfarm
At Whitelee Windfarm Visitor Centre we offer an education programme for Early years - S4. Linking to the Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) our highly interactive activities promote successful learning by challenging pupils and providing enjoyment through their experiences.
Developed by Glasgow Science Centre, the education programme is a two hour visit, which includes:
- A main activity / workshop
- A guided tour of the windfarm
- Time in our exhibition area
Visits are suitable for a maximum class size of 34 pupils, and a minimum of 10 pupils (normal adult/carer ratios apply).
The cost is £3.00 per pupil.
Education visits run Monday to Friday during term time in two sessions: 10:00 to 12:00 or 12:30 to 14:30.
You can book an education visit from February until early December (excluding holidays).
If you’re not able to visit us in person just yet we have developed an online climate change workshop - Learn about the effects and causes of climate change, and the impact made by electricity generation. This interactive 30 minute online workshop, delivered over Google Meets, will introduce climate change and talk about how renewable and non-renewable ways of generating electricity could effect on our future climate. Aimed at classes P5 – S1.
CfE: Science / Planet Earth / Energy Sources and Sustainability; Technologies / Technological Developments in Society
(Note – this workshop is delivered remotely and will need Google Meets access)
